It´s a really big honour for Gepresst.com to present award winning photographer Dita Kubin here at Gepresst.com.
Dita was born in Písek, Czechoslovakia, 1975, but now lives and works in Canada. Dita shows great craftmanship and creativity in her work, which over the years has won her several prizes. Her series here at Gepresst is from her current project titled “Underneath Skin” – and that is just where Dita is going – underneath her own skin and ours too.
“Underneath Skin” is a photographic journey of self-portraits – they are intimate images, coming right out of private life, not loud and bombastic with a ‘kapow’ effect, but rather with pensive undercurrents depicting both pleasure and pain. These images are ones I had to sit with for a while, breath them in. Perhaps it´s the out of focus style, that keeps the personal story behind this project somewhat hidden, but you sence it, when you take your time. May you find yourself some food for thought to meditate on when you explore these images.
